I'd say Los Angeles is probably a good bounce back candidate next season so signing on for one year with them makes sense. If they're somehow out of it at the deadline, do him a favor and trade him to a contender for pennies so he gets one more chance to be a part of something special. He's earned it.

This is what I was thinking, as long as Sutter is back next year as coach. Sutter knows him so well that so far he's been able to get Iginla out there in situations best suited for him, and it seems to be working. He's not expected to be fast, just strong along the boards/net front and as a shooter on the PP, things that he's still more than capable of even with his declined skating.

His next stop will likely be Chicago. Cup Contender and a need for RWs down the lines

If he plays one last year it would make a tone of sense as a flame.

I wouldn't mind seeing him play another year for any team other than the Blues.

Doesn't make a whole lot of sense for the Flames unless he's signed as the strength and conditioning coach. Flames entire gameplan, including their power play, is based on movement. Iginla's movement wasn't great 10 years ago.

Iggy is welcome back. Sutter is not.

We don't really need RWs down the lines.

Kane/Hossa/Panik already are the top 9 RWs

then you have open spots to contend for with Debrincat, Shalunov if he comes over later in the fall, Jurco can play both wings, and other organization options

Iginla just doesnt really have a spot to pencil him in and/or take a spot from an up an coming player.

And Q doesnt exploy a 4th line in a traditional sense. He will roll two scoring lines and two third lines if he has the bodies

Iginla at his best is a cherry picking one dimensional winger who is good on the PP.

He is now too slow to even get away trying to cherry pick. The guy is done like dinner.

He is a guy like Doan who was everything to a mediocre franchise at best. Deserves respect from his teams faithful but his current play, previous accolades, and accomplishments really are not good enough to for anyone to even take a chance on him next year.

If he insists on going for one more year he will have to take a PTO and work his butt off with a max payday of one mill one year.

Yeah Flames should sign Iggy so he can retire there.

Otherwise Oilers will to spite them

Jarome is the epitome of hockey. The last of a dying breed.
